Holy Moly

Balenciaga

How awesome are those first three looks? Kind of quirky but still really cool! I'm also loving the red shorts with the blazer and white shirt.

Balmain

Studs were starting to get old for me but this renews them again. I'm loving the red leather jacket on Anna Selezneva and also loving the styling of Freja Beha.

Also, the first model, Kasia Stuss, reminds me of Kayla from ANTM Cycle 15. Even their names both start with a K.

Doesn't she?

BALMAINNNNNNNNNN!

Two faves, Anja Rubik & Anna Selezneva :D

I love all the prints & texture. So fierce for fall.

It's an exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Shatin called "The Golden Age of Couture: Paris and London 1947 - 1957". A brief overview of the exhibition from the HKHM page:
This exhibition focuses on post-war couture during a decade (1947–1957) that Christian Dior described as the "Golden Age" of fashion. Drawn mainly from the Victoria and Albert Museum's collections of French and British fashion and photography, it explores the creative, social and commercial aspects of this highly traditional and luxurious craft industry and analyses its legacy.
The exhibition includes pieces from:

Roger Vivier,

Christian Dior,

Pierre Balmain,

Cristobal Balenciaga,

and Hubert de Givenchy.

I'm going on September 26 with my college. It's part of this program I'm doing for the dorm building that I'm in, where we choose from a range of programs. Of course, I chose the visual arts one. Anyway, this is one of the upcoming trips. The dresses are all stunning and I can't wait to see the exquisite detailing on all of them! I'll be sure to post an update once I visit, hopefully cameras will be allowed!

The MET Costume Institute Gala 09

Okay, I'm really pissed off. This post was supposed to be posted up two days ago. However, because my stupid computer has a virus which screws up my intenet, and then my brother's computer made me lose my whole post, I am posting it two days late and you've probably already seen the pictures elsewhere. Whatever, I'm posting these anyway. These photos are from the MET Costume Institute Gala 2009: The Model As Muse on May 5th in NYC. The models and celebs really know how to make you feel bad about yourself. Them and their gorgeous gowns and good looks.

Anna Hathaway in Marc Jacobs with Pour Le Victoire platform sandals and Van Cleef & Arpels and Genevieve Jones jewels. Anne Hathaway is so pretty; Tyra Banks in Badgley Mischka Couture with BM jewels and shoes. What a lucky woman to wear Badgley & Mischka. Their dresses are AMAZING! However, her look is so so. Really hate her hair. Actually, I'm not a big fan of her either. After watching ANTM, she gets a little annoying. "A little" is putting it mildly.

Rachel Weisz in Vera Wang with Solange Azagury-Partridge jewels and a Roger Vivier clutch. That dress is crafted amazingly. It's hand painted. Not a fan of the dark lips though; Rihanna in Dolce & Gabbana. Hmm well I kinda liked this look at first, but I'm starting to think it's not really event-appropriate. Especially when there are people like Elizabeth Hurley who wore such a breathtaking gown!

Eva Mendes in Calvin Klein. She could have done so much more; Blake Lively in Versace. This is a little too much for me. She looks about 30!

Jessica Alba in Jason Wu with Bruno Frisoni shoes and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels. Hmm, this dress reminds me of the Lanvin S09 RTW dress; Rachel Bilson in Bally with Cartier jewels. Wish she would have done something with her hair.

Kate Bosworth in Stella McCartney. She looks great in this dress; Mary-Kate Olsen in Christian Lacroix. I'm not really feeling this.

Bar Rafaeli in Marchesa; Madonna in Louis Vuitton and Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie. Umm...I'm guessing she walked out the door of her house without saying bye to anyone?

Ashley Olsen in The Row. Loving it! Personally, I think she looks a lot better than Mary-Kate; Tom Brady & Gisele Bundchen in custom Versace with a Versace bag and shoes. Gorgeous dress. Models suck.

Marc Jacobs & Kate Moss in Marc Jacobs with Harry Winston and Genevieve Jones jewels and YSL shoes. Loving the dress and shoes! Ah bowties. Gets me everytime; Claudia Schiffer in Versace wit ha Versace clutch. Love the detailing!

Justin Timberlake in William Rast & Jessica Biel in Versace Atelier. Wow that dress! Perfection; Coco Rocha in Issac Mizrahi and the designer himself. I love her hair. Check out her blog! Found it thanks to Eeli of Aphex Nation

Victoria Beckham in Marc Jacobs with Chopard jewels and Louis Vuitton shoes; Agyness Deyn in custom Burberry Prorsum. Her hair looks quite fierce.

Kanye West in custom Louis Vuitton & Amber Rose in Carolina Herrera with a VBH clutch; Kate Beckinsale in Marchesa. Wow, another amazing dress.

Sasha Pivovarova in Giambattista Valli and Luigi Scialanga jewels & Giambattista Valli. This is a cute photo, I don't know why; Emmy Rossum in Carolina Herrera

Katy Perry in Tommy Hilfiger. Not liking this; Chanel Iman in Zac Posen and Montblanc jewelry & Flavia De Oliveira in Juan Carlos Obando. I love their dresses, especially Chanel's.

Bee Schaffer, Anna Wintour's daughter, in Nina Ricci with VBH jewels and Roger Vivier shoes. Love the shade of blue; Arun Naya & Elizabeth Hurley in Elie Saab with Van Cleef & Arpels jewels and a Leiber bag. Again, wow. No words can really describe how amazing this dress is! And she's gorgeous too.

Heidi Klum in J. Mendel with a VBH clutch. Gorgeous; Dennis Basso, Eva Longoria Parker in Diane von Furstenberg with H. Stern jewels & Robert Verdi. No wonder she looks so perfect. Two of my favorites!

Daria Werbowy in Balmain, Narciso Rodriguez & Lily Donaldson in Narciso Rodriguez. Daria's looking so annoyed to have her photo taken these days. Love Lily's shoes & dress though; Anja Rubik in Balmain. Gorgeous! She needs to put on some weight though!

Miranda Kerr in Jil Sander. Love the shoes & dress! You can't really see, but there are slits on the lower sides of the dress as well; Marc Jacobs & Anna Wintour

Zac Posen & Helena Christensen in Zac Posen with a Genevieve Jones bag; Jessica Stam in Rodarte with Nicholas Kirkwood shoes. Hm, questionable look. Did you know that she used to want to be a dentist? I don't think I'd trust her as my dentish!

Leighton Meester in Louis Vuitton. I'm not quite sure how I feel about this; Erin Wasson in Phi. I love how much attitude (in a good way) she always has!

Vivi Nevo & Zhang Ziyi in Giorgio Armani. Asian represent! (minus the Asian designers) Not a big fan of her though. I feel like she's a huge gold digger/ fame whore; Alexander Wang & Lara Stone. Ah Alexander Wang, such a cutie! Lara Stone is looking a bit weird.

Enough photos, obviously way more models/ designers/ celebrities were there, plus this post is already way too long. But, one last photo, just for laughs!

HAHAHAH Someone got caught! She's actually pretty when she smiles. I do wish she had some hair though.
